Fan clutches increase a vehicle's cooling system's effectiveness while minimizing engine power loss. A fluid coupling device uses the water pump shaft to drive a fan blade to deliver airflow through the radiator. The air temperature travelling through the radiator and air conditioning condenser is detected by a thermostat coil spring that is integrated into thermal fan clutches.
