A DPF Sensor or exhaust pressure sensor (Differential Pressure Sensor) measures the pressure difference of the exhaust gas before and after the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) or in comparison with the external atmospheric pressure. The DPF Sensor is also used to monitor the soot loading of a Particulate Filter on a diesel engine, and is an integral part of the emissions system.
