VHT Flameproof Primer, a highly specialized and widely-used coating in the automotive and aerospace industries, is a crucial component for boosting the heat resistance and performance of various parts and components.
Key Applications:
- Headers: VHT Flameproof Primer is commonly used on exhaust headers to enhance heat resistance and protect against extreme temperatures.
- Exhaust Systems: When applied to exhaust systems, this primer contributes to their heat resistance and helps maintain performance under extreme conditions.
- Piston Domes: The primer can be used to protect piston domes from the high temperatures generated in engines.
- Inside Heads: VHT Flameproof Primer can also be applied to the interior of engine heads to increase their heat resistance.
Curing for Maximum Performance:
Proper curing of VHT Flameproof Primer is essential to unlock its unique properties and ensure maximum performance. The curing process can be done either on or off the vehicle. Follow the recommended curing steps below:
On the Vehicle:
- The painted part must be completely dry before curing.
- Run the engine at idle for 10 minutes.
- Let the part cool for 20 minutes.
- Run the engine at idle for an additional 20 minutes.
- Allow the part to cool for another 20 minutes.
- Finally, run the engine under normal operating conditions for 30 minutes.
Off the Vehicle:
- Ensure the painted part is completely dry before curing.
- Heat the part to 250°F (121°C) for 30 minutes.
- Allow the part to cool for 30 minutes.
- Heat the part to 400°F (204°C) for 30 minutes.
- Allow the part to cool for 30 minutes.
- Finish the curing process by heating the part to 650°F (343°C) for 30 minutes.
VHT Flameproof Primer is an indispensable solution for achieving exceptional heat resistance and protection for critical engine and exhaust components. It is trusted by professionals in the automotive and aerospace industries and is ideal for enhancing the performance and longevity of parts exposed to extreme temperatures.
