  • Flanges

How to Use

  1. Remove old gasket material from mating surfaces and clean with mineral turpentine. If adhesion of the gasket is not required, wipe mating surfaces with an oily cloth.
  2. For 75g tube - pierce blind seal in tube and fit nozzle. For Cartridge - cut cartridge tip and fit nozzle. Cut nozzle to required size; e.g. 3mm for stamped parts and 1.5mm for cast parts. Use caulking gun to extrude silicone. Squeeze or extrude bead of sealant onto one of the surfaces to be joined, around the perimeter of the part and around bolt holes.
  3. Join the parts together within 10 minutes and bolt down to the desired torque. Material cures in 24 hours. When disassembly is required, pry the two flanges apart and remove the old sealant before reassembly.
  4. Clean up before sealant cures with mineral turps.
  5. After use remove nozzle and replace cap on tube. Allow sealant to cure in nozzle and remove before next use.

        Limitations:

  • Not recommended for continuous exposure above 205°C.
  • Not for exhaust manifolds or for contact with gasoline or distillate.

Handy tips

  • When eliminating cork gaskets, ensure that adequate clearance remains for mechanical parts, e.g. valve rocker covers. In these cases do not fully tighten until sealant has cured.
  • During application a harmless vinegar odour (acetic acid) is generated, but disappears as the sealant cures.
  • Suitable for intermittent exposure to temperatures up to 260°C.

Clean Up

  • Uncured product may be removed with mineral turpentine.
  • Cured product can be removed by cutting and scraping.
